April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on July 4th July, started taking guitar and piano lessons from age seven. She was interested in writing songs was ignited. April Lockhart composed her very first song, Different at age of twelve. The year she turned 14 was when she spent a lot of her time writing song ideas and practicing her musical skills. Later on she would begin taking notes with her father to LA and NY. The month of April also included other themes in Take My hand for her pals who were struggling in the face of peer pressure, disability or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is a popular figure and works as an online lifestyle blogger for the renowned Ilia clean beauty brand. She has a disability that is part of her character, but it is not the whole story. Lockhart isn't shy about mentioning her disability on her Instagram account however she doesn't make it the focus of her account. The main message? that we are all a part of a multitude of identities and that we're much greater than the physical person we are. Lockhart stated in a video interview she didn't want to be defined by her handicap. She doesn't wish to be a disability advocate who only speaks about it. There are many aspects of Lockhart. It doesn't impact my normal life. I just do every day as normal and have found my own method of adjusting the things. Since it's part of my identity I think it's worth talking about. Self-acceptance can be a marathon for a lifetime but Lockhart truly inspires me on that front. Lockhart has admitted that she's gone through phases where she was unsure about sporting certain clothes that exposed her arms. She now wears any outfit she chooses to and shares photos of herself wearing those clothes to the internet with a sense of pride. The self-love she talks about is a process. I'm not entirely sure that you'll ever reach the end. However, I believe that's the case with everyone with whatever their insecurity is. It's important to have people within your circle who understand and understand you. They will help you remind yourself of what you are worried about.
